Internal Investigation- A Process of Discovery

Life walks us through a wide range of experiences.

In the beginning we explore the world we live in, just like a baby that opens his eyes for the first time.

Along our exploration, an internal development takes place. That leads into an internal investigation through every day life. At a specific point in life we become conscious of this process.

We realise there is no apparent teacher or guide but life itself.

It is the feared unknown!

How do we grow, living comfortably with this uncertainty?!

When we sense our needs, we reveal our desires. When we reveal our desires, we reveal the correct course of action for us.

A desire is the only way to do, to overcome and achieve any goal in life.

Life walks us through a wide range of experiences.

We constantly get thrown to and fro, from high to low, as an opportunity for exploration, an exploration on a multitude of levels, aspects, states, feelings and thoughts in our life.

In the beginning we explore the world we live in, just like a baby that opens his eyes for the first time.

At first a baby looks around, he studies his parent's faces, listens to the sounds around him, tastes his mother's milk. As he grows, his senses develop and his desire to learn grows. He moves from recognizing his parents, to recognizing strangers, he learns to smile and the more he grows his senses and abilities develop. He wants to do more, he wants to crawl, walk, speak and generally do what others do.

Along this development, an internal development takes place. The baby grows into a toddler who explores his feelings. He is perfectly happy and then the next minute he is extremely sad or angry and goes into a tantrum, which the adults have to deal with. So in fact by this scenario that arises, both toddler and his parents learn what they needed to learn. The parents and child explore their boundaries, feelings, thoughts and then make conscious or subconscious decisions of how to act in the future.

This example demonstrates that by having an experience in life, an external experience, we explore internally.

At first that happens unconsciously, like with a child, however as we grow and develop at a certain point in our life, we wake up and become conscious of this process.

This awakening is a very specific point in life that happens as part of a natural evolutionary process that we undergo. It is the natural evolution of human desires.

As a part of the natural evolution of human desires, we desire only our basic needs such as food, shelter, sex. Then we desire money, then honour and respect. After that comes knowledge and when that doesn't fulfill us anymore we begin to desire something else all together. This is the point of awakening, where the desire for spirituality comes to life.

The more the first four types of desires develop, the more the desire for spirituality grows.

The exploration changes from an investigation of an external known phenomena, with regular scientific methods, into an internal investigation through every day life, just like the baby I have mentioned before.

Life's experiences are given to us accurately, as an exact bed and method, a way of developing our desires and acquiring wisdom which constitutes of knowledge, emotional maturity, etc, but mainly the ability to feel.

That means that our life provides us the perfect school to learn from, while there is no apparent teacher, guide or certain requested result or end point.

It is the feared unknown!

How do we grow, living comfortably with this uncertainty?! How can it become a source of joy and excitement by itself? And even more how do we grow yearning the times of frustration and challenges in our life, because we know these are the times we grow the most?

Indeed the unknown is scary, however when you will go through the cycles of internal investigation (the highs and the lows etc ), you will come to understand its mechanism, learn to use it and even welcome it as a tool, as a stepping stone into the next degree.

We move from revelation of one form to another in us, check out different angles or, in other words, states of light/life.

The unknown becomes a tool of exploration. The more we don't know, the more the opportunity to learn and grow and make inner discernments opens up.

The exploration grows deeper and more subtle. Sometimes the slightest, the most subtle change in us, can take the longest to realise, and is vast in spiritual terms, as it can mean the difference between heaven and earth. It is the acquisition of a new from.

Often we go through cycles of dealing with the same problems in life. For example arguing repeatedly with the kids about brushing their teeth!!!

When we do find new angles and solutions to our problems, it will demand deeper exploration from our part until we are able to make a new inner discernment about us, and practice it in life. Once we do, we think we did it! Yey! Just to realise the same issue popped back again, in a different variation, with a deeper learning within it...

The cyclic issue itself becomes irrelevant, but the internal investigation takes life and form and becomes the whole purpose of it. Time and time again there is a whole process that needs to take place in us, so we can reach a new ability, a new state. This is a process of inner attainment.

As a general rule of thumb, it is always about us!!!

How do we change this process from being a very messy, depressive, angry, and physically damaging one, into a process of observation of states, while feeling and living actively through it?

It is not about separating from life by different practices such as long meditations, which can cause duality and separation from life, but a natural, normal every day process of life, where we explore internally.

The main tool for it are our needs. When we sense our needs, we reveal our desires. When we reveal our desires, we reveal the correct course of action for us.

Confusion is often a good sign for a new development which arises in life, according to your inner desires.

A desire is the only way to do.

A desire is the only way to achieve and overcome any obstacles on the way.

If the following ever crossed your mind, you are ready...

I know that I don't know, but I want to know!
